The final of the East Indonesia Coffee Event League was held on October 6, 2022, placed at Solo Techno Park.
The regional level competition under the auspices of the Specialty Coffee Association of Indonesia (SCAI) is the first to be held in two regions, western and eastern Indonesia. Previously the competition was only held centrally in Jakarta.
Astery is the organizer which held the East Indonesia Coffee Event League in Surakarta. Solo Technopark. This event is an effort to support coffee in Indonesia as well as to produce professional baristas who are talented and ready to compete in the international market.
Astery’s Director and Chief organizer, Dewa Nur Arsistha said that East ICE League: Surakarta competes in 4 categories at once. There is the Indonesia Barista Championship (IBC), Indonesia Brewers Cup (IBrC), Indonesia Latte Art Championship (ILAC), and Indonesia Cup Taster Championship (ICTC). Each competition category has different assessment criteria. The ICB category focuses on promoting excellence in the coffee displayed, and IBrC focuses on the craft of making filtered coffee by hand. Then ILAC contested the skill of a barista in mixing coffee drinks to make art on foam from a mixture of milk and coffee and the ICTC participants competed to show speed, expertise, and accuracy in distinguishing the differences in taste in specialty coffee.
The event which was attended by baristas from all over Indonesia ended up getting 3 winners from each category.
Elsa Dama came out as the first winner of the Indonesia Cup Taster Championship (ICTC). In second place is Arifan, and in third place is Abdul Latif. For the Indonesia Latte Art Championship (ILAC), Rahmat Budi take the lead as first place, second place was Mohammad Ilham, and third place was won by Arif Fendy Pratama.
Meanwhile, in the Indonesia Brewers Championship (IBrC), first place was won by Dionysius Dahana, second place was Elena Sabila and third place was Muhammad Syafiq Fajar. Then for the Indonesia Barista Championship (IBC), Fajar Restu Damarjati won first place, Rizal Fahtomi took second place and third place was Yuda Pramono.
Apart from the competition, the East ICE League: Surakarta event was also enlivened by a bazaar, both from coffee and food and beverage businesses.
